Ieva Ose, has been published: &#8221;&nbsp;<em>The Practices of Preserving Medieval Castles in Latvia from 1945 to 1991: The Case of Turaida Castle&#8221;.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The publication describes the Turaida Museum Reserve as one of the most successful examples of cultural heritage preservation in Latvia, highlighting its importance in both local and international tourism. The article particularly commends the decades-long, systematic approach to the conservation, restoration, and archaeological research of the castle ruins, which has not only protected the historic site from deterioration but also made it accessible and educational for the wider public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Turaida Castle is highlighted as a symbol of continuous and purposeful effort that has helped preserve an important part of the Baltic region\u2019s medieval architectural heritage. At the same time, the publication also sheds light on the challenges and the controversial methodologies that were employed in the study of Latvia\u2019s medieval castles during the Soviet occupation period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The article was published on the international scientific journal platform MDPI, one of the largest academic publishing platforms, which provides open access to research.
