The Turaida Museum Reserve is a place where centuries, stories and traditions intertwine, creating a space where you can feel the breath of history.
The main tower of the medieval castle of Turaida illuminates the hillfort like a torch, giving visitors a breathtaking view of the ancient Gauja River valley from above, allowing them to see it so differently depending on the season – flourishing in spring, lushly blooming in summer, with golden leaves in autumn, and covered in a beautiful blanket of snow in winter.
With 26 monumental sculptures, Dainu Hill not only reveals the world of art, but in synergy with the surrounding environment, traditions and Latvian history of the Awakening period, it gives us a new perspective on how we perceive the connection between art objects, place and history.
